Our HP Byron Nelson picks and who's hot and who's not:

This week's field includes:

  • The field includes five of the top 25 in the latest Official World Golf Rankings, with one from the Top 10, Vijay Singh (because of Mickelson WD). The other three top-25 players in the field are Anthony Kim, Ian Poulter and Mike Weir.
  • The field includes eleven of the Top 25 on this year's PGA Tour money list. Those players include Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Kevin Na, Brian Gay, Ian Poulter, David Toms, Charles Hoffman, John Rollins, Charles Howell III, Y.E. Yang and Mike Weir.
  • The field includes eight past champions: Adam Scott (2008), Scott Verplank (2007), Ted Purdy (2005), Vijay Singh (2003), Shigeki Maruyama (2002), Jesper Parnevik (2000), Phil Mickelson (1996) and Fred Couples (1987)

A perfect way for fantasy golfers to check on the past performance of all the players in the EDS Byron Nelson Championship field are these performance charts, one with the players listed alphabetically and the other with the players listed by average finish.

One last way to check who is the best is through a special formula worked out in Golfstats that gives us the best average performances at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship in the last five years.

A a good cheat sheet is this list of odds from the top bookmakers in England.

Another cheat sheet is this list of odds from the top bookmaker in Las Vegas.

Time to look at our who's hot and who isn't:
