This week's field includes:

  • The field includes 33 of the top 50 players in the latest Official World Golf Rankings. The only ones not in the field are Tiger Woods, Henrik Stenson, Justin Rose, Lee Westwood, Miguel Angel Jimenez, Robert Karlsson, Luke Donald, Ian Poulter, Graeme McDowell, Paul Casey, Zach Johnson, Retief Goosen, Sean O'Hair, Martin Kaymer, Soren Hansen, Richard Green and Oliver Wilson.
  • The field includes only 40 of the top 50 of this years PGA Tour money list. The ones not in the field are Tiger Wood, Jeff Quinney, Sean O'Hair, Rod Pampling, Daniel Chopra, Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter, Steve Lowery, Paul Goydos and Luke Donald.
  • The field includes eight past champions: Trevor Immelman (2006), Jim Furyk (2005), Stephen Ames (2004), Jerry Kelly (2002), Robert Allenby (2000), Steve Stricker (1996), Billy Mayfair (1995) and Scott Verplank (1985).

A perfect way for fantasy golfers to check on the past performance of all the players in the BMW Championship are these performance charts, one with the players listed alphabetically and the other with the players listed by average finish.

One last way to check who is the best is through a special formula worked out in Golfstats that gives us the best average performances at the BMW Championship in the last five years.

A a good cheat sheet is this list of odds from the top bookmakers in England.
