This week's field includes:
- The field includes only nine of the top 25 in the latest Official World Golf Rankings, with five from the Top 10: Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk, K.J. Choi and Rory Sabbatini. The other four top 25 players in the field are Vijay Singh, Geoff Oglivy, Aaron Baddeley and Stewart Cink.
- The field includes 21 of the Top 25 of this year's PGA Tour money list. The players not in the field are Daniel Chopra, Steve Stricker, Chad Campbell and Fred Funk.
- The field includes six past champions: Tiger Woods (2007, '06, '05, '03, 1999), John Daly (2004), Jose Maria Olazabal (2002), Phil Mickelson (2001, '00 & '93), Mark O'Meara (1997) and Bob Tway (1986)
