- The field includes eight of the Top 25 on this year's PGA Tour money list. Those players include Justin Leonard, Trevor Immelman, Sean O'Hair, Daniel Chopra, Ryuji Imada, Luke Donald, Rory Sabbatini and Johnson Wagner.
- The field includes five past champions: Scott Verplank (2007), Brett Wetterich (2006), Ted Purdy (2005), Sergio Garcia (2004), Shigeki Maruyaman (2002) and Jesper Parnevik (2000).
