- The field includes 24 of the Top 25 on this year's PGA Tour money list. Only one not in the field is Tiger Woods.
- Of the field of 144 players, 101 players have won a total of 414 PGA Tour titles and 25 players have won a major championship.
- The field includes 8 past champions: Phil Mickelson (2007), Stephen Ames (2006), Fred Funk (2005), Adam Scott (2004), Davis Love III (2003 & 1992), Justin Leonard (1998), Steve Elkington (1997 & '91) and Fred Couples (1994 & '84).
